Caring Hearts-Caring for Each Other is Christ-like Love

Caring hearts are woven in Christ-like love. Caring hearts are the definition of true love—Christlike love, which is called charity 1.

Caring hearts symbolize charity--the true love of Christ

Charity is built on three pillars:

  • complete loyalty
  • complete sacrifice
  • complete trust.

Remove any one of these pillars and love crumbles. For caring heart to exist and endure there must be charity.

Caring hearts mature in charity

True love--charity--which defines caring hearts, grows and matures over time. True love is measured by continual loving acts. There is a vast difference between being in love and being loving. Thus couples should continue to court one another to ensure that their love never diminishes.

How to nurture a caring heart

Likewise, couples should:

  • anticipate the needs of their spouse
  • surprise their spouse, and
  • delight their spouse.

These simple acts of charity make caring hearts grow stronger. The courtship continues, and true love endures.

“Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. ‘Children are an heritage of the Lord’ (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.” 2
