Eternal Journey: Our Eternal Journey began with God

Our eternal journey began with our Heavenly Father in the pre-mortal world where we were born as spirits and grew and matured under his care.

Because a veil of forgetfulness has been temporarily drawn over our minds, we cannot remember our life as the spirit children of God. Neither can we remember what he looks like nor his characteristics nor the incredibly personal and loving relationship we enjoyed with him. For the present, we must live by faith instead of sight and learn the invaluable lesson of choosing either good or evil by our own choice.

Our eternal journey brought us to Earth

Our eternal journey ended in the pre-mortal world of spirits and brought us here ot Earth for a special purpose. Our progression depended upon our receiving a physical body and gaining valuable experience, which could only be accomplished here on Earth.

But Heavenly Father did not leave us alone.

Here on Earth, if we will hearken to the quiet voice of the Holy Ghost, he will teach us the true principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ that will lead us to God and back to his presence. And as we obey God and reach out to him, he will reveal to us, individually, our divine nature and his eternal plan for us--the reason for and the goal of our eternal journey.
