What to expect
What to wear
You’re welcome to come in any tasteful clothes you like. But most men wear suits or button-up shirts and ties, and women typically wear dresses or skirts. Children usually dress up, too.
The service for everyone is called sacrament meeting. It consists of songs, prayers, and sermons (called “talks”) given by different members of the congregation. The most important part is the sacrament (or communion).
On the first Sunday of every month, there isn’t a typical sermon. Instead, anyone who has something to share about the gospel can do so over the pulpit. Our own convictions can be strengthened as we hear the experiences of others and let God’s spirit fill our hearts.
Either before or after sacrament meeting, there are other age-specific classes for children and adults. If you’d like to attend, just ask someone at church and they’ll be happy to help you find the right classroom.
Members of the Church are generally friendly people who will welcome you to the meeting and help you feel at home. Feel free to ask anyone if you have questions.
